Rain…

11 Rain

This track is one of the original 11 that I intended on fine tuning when I first started posting music on here…before  I was side tracked. Pretty much I’ve noticed my cycle and the way the waves hit me…kind of. It’s pretty natural and I don’t force it; so, it remains fun. The process is similar to freelance work…

I’ve been listening to a track my friend dose sent me on repeat for a good bit. Shiny Toy Guns doing Major Tom. Good stuff. The d-man hooks up the killer tracks. Passion Pit & The Big Pink were on a heavy listening rotation as well just recently. Thanks d-man.

I’m tired, just got back from the bay area…all I can say is open V-bar at the Hotel Valencia.

Mad props to Studio Number One & @obeygiant

Today yielded good results. Awhile back I acquired one of the Shepard Fairey Obama HOPE campaign posters at a David Trulli exhibit in Santa Monica. It was prior to the Big O’s presidency and ironically enough I took the piece in to be framed before the economy turned and I was/am unable to afford to return the piece into my hands. During the time I had the poster being framed I saw Shephard at an Alva exhibit/exhibit-A and I asked if he would sign the poster. He kindly agreed and offered I stop by. This was like almost a year ago. Tim at the Heritage the frame, gallery, store owner allowed me to peal potatoes (design shtuff) to work off my debt and the Obama print was released on bail around 10:30am today. I stopped by Studio Numero Uno and was stoked to be permitted and got that beautch John Hancocked. Dude (SF) asked me if I had any requests and I let him know I wanted him to write what ever he felt seeing his thoughts and stance on the campaign affairs and matters have changed..I said it’s all you, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. He signed it “Angel, keep on rockin in a semi-free world!”. Ha! That is perfect, I didn’t read what he wrote until I took it back to the framer to re-insert. So, the moral to the story is artist rock & the question remains has he heard my crappy music? I hope so. I’ll donate for a good cause.  Also, thank you Devin for buzzing me in and I accidentally stole the Juxtapoz mag from the lobby, oops. Thanks for the time and the stickers, studio number one!

Fooling around with the songs components and using the off beat gaps to spring board my larynx.

All Along The Watchtower (cover)

All Along The Watchtower

I’m paying homage to hendrix & dylan with this attempt to touch one of my favez. This is one of those situations where I heard the cover before the original. The wah wah guitar solo JH lays down is my most admired guitar solo of all time. You cann”t remove BD from the equation though, because he obviously was the origin that passed it along. I heard the Jane’s Addiciton version of Sympathy For The Devil before The Stones too. Maybe I’ll try to learn that one too; but, I think the congas are absolutley necessary to open that one up. Always wanted to do the Hendrix solo for AATW with a synth tracker….

I have a new one too, I’ll probably post tomorrow and I’ll try to explain what it’s all about.

The secret’s the key…

Had to put air into my bike tire today and was amazed at my retardation handling the pump and tire. No buttons, no touch screens, no url wtf…

Check this loop out, will turn into something, the last post did, now it is classified:

The Secret

Fell asleep watching this last night.

Agile test driven song writing…Holy song in ascending D# batman: Time ticks on & Shame…

Two things. 1. After I listened to this crazy reggae mix onSC I discovered the key of D# and let me tell ya it’s systematic relationships that manifest from constraints like this that I love.  So, along came Time ticks on that is totally prepubescent. I am wondering where my accent came from. Are all foreign accents down in there somewhere…’HELLO’ (HELLo, HELlo, HEllo, Hello, hello, hell.. that was an echo..).  Maybe the accent was ripped from modern english along with the 2nd best line, oh well.. place holder

2. After coincidence collided with the sound room and I squeezed out that bit of cheese, I broke into blondie’s “one way or another”. Prior, to just right now, I have never tried to play that song or even thought about the chords, the “I’m gonna getChya, getChya” part was helluv fun to sing.

Okay maybe three things. I wrote my first script (computer weird science) that made sense conceptually without cheating last night and fell asleep satisfied. Somehow everything all of the sudden clicked together…2010 are you the combination lock to my soul or whatever that funny stuff inside of me is called? The other song shame…totally cobbled together make shift at the hinges, shack like…think of the tweet as the path to the blog tree and that is one of the low hanging fruits, not 404orbidden, one that will sustain; but, better ones are up top.

Time ticks on

Shame

Bark At The Moon: Shine, I fell, HIGH, Gotcha. 4 track 4 tracks, quick & dirty

Alright; so, a quick debrief. Shine: Nephew emailed me a silly question about life and I responded with a silly song. I fell: Only she knows how I miss her warm embrace, don’t fool yourself it is about her not you. HIGH: Attraction to frustrating tension in that all so bad way. Gotcha: Hrmmnnnn, you tell me what you think it’s about, eigh.

Sleep tight & Cherry eyes…

Well, I messed up. I *programmed* the drumz to these two tracks and dubbed my guitar like singing over them and I forgot to click record for the drum track…creature of habit. I’ve been  messing with a simple drum and bass with a piano synth and maybe a bonus. But so far it sounds like sh*t(sh*ttier). Don’t get me wrong when I say program I mean I clicked three buttons until it sounded the way I wanted and opened Live then Reason and voilà, presto, magnifik ableton automatically slaves poor little reason into submission and does it’s bidding at a nominal fee. I feel sorry for poor little reason; but, maybe someday propellerhead will give you a brain and you can work your way out of slavery…

Again, tracks are distorted for that sketch like feeling of incubation to achieve the unfolding design like effect. Hope you understand.

Sleep tight

Cherry eyes

Rest assured their was a sweet rock drum beat pumping through my dome while I was doing my dying dog impression.

The Wrongest Right

I’m toying with this track…

Yours To Keep (cover)

While I was working at home listening to an iTunes station an american band played covering this swedish track that I remember so well from being in Gothenburg in 2001. The video was on all the time. Thought I’d give it a shot, here’s the chords and the vid:
